About Terav
Terav is a two-dimensional scrolling tank shooter developed in Game Maker 6.1. It was inspired initially by Shiftup's Area Flat games, although the final product has strayed very far from the original concept. The game took just under 4 months to develop. All graphics, music, and sounds are original.

Minimum requirements:
Windows 98SE or newer
DirectX 8.0
3D graphics card with 32 MB video memory
1 ghz processor - although the game will run on less, it will most likely not achieve 60 frames per second during intense gameplay.

Powerups
Sometimes enemies will drop colored boxes when you destroy them. Collect these by touching them with your tank. The color of this powerup box will be added to your tank's normal weapon.

When the game starts, your weapon can hold a maximum of two powerup colors. As you continue to later stages, the maximum capacity of your gun will increase. Next to the health meter you will see the current makeup of your weapon.

Options
To modify the options for Terav, on the main menu, click the options button, which looks like a gear. The following list of checkboxes will appear:
FullscreenIf checked, Terav will cover your entire computer screen. Otherwise, Terav appears in a window. Off by default.
Play SoundIf checked, Terav will play sound effects on the menus and during gameplay. On by default.
Play MusicIf checked, Terav will loop a random song from your music folder when you start playing. You can put any mp3 file in the "music" subdirectory of the main Terav folder, and Terav will load it as music. You can change the current song while playing through the pause menu.
Pixel InterpolationIf your computer has trouble running Terav at 60 frames per second, try turning this off. The graphics of the game will be rougher and less aliased. On by default.
Draw BackgroundsTurning this off may improve the speed of the game on older computers. The scrolling hills behind the normal gameplay will not appear. On by default.
Use SurfacesSurfaces are only correctly supported by some video cards. Try turning this on to experience Terav's full graphical atmosphere. If the background seems to flicker, or the background suddenly fills up with one color besides black, then your video card has problems with surfaces and you should turn them off. Off by default.
